Our Story
The story begins in 2015 when the Grogans, armed with a startup background, identified a critical issue in the mechanical strength of bio-plastics used in coffee capsules. Fuelled by a commitment to finding sustainable solutions, they laid the foundation for what would later become Enzide Technologies (formerly Earthpak). Recognising the urgency of the matter, they sought assistance from Australia’s government science agency, CSIRO, in 2016.

Years of dedicated research and development culminated in the birth of Enzide technology—a game-changer in the realm of single-use plastics. This cutting-edge innovation is poised to revolutionise the industry, offering a sustainable alternative and paving the way for a better future .
However, Mark and Megan's journey didn't stop there. In their quest to address the complex issue of plastic collection and separation, they founded Circle 8. Armed with their expertise in the circular economy, the dynamic duo is tackling the challenges posed by the diverse types of plastics, consumer confusion about disposal, and the lack of incentives for responsible waste management.
Mark and Megan Grogan's journey is not just a story of entrepreneurial success but a testament to the transformative power of dedication, innovation, and a commitment to addressing the urgent environmental challenges of our time. Circle 8 stands as a beacon of hope, leading the way towards a more sustainable and responsible future for plastic usage and waste management.
Circle 8 is on a mission to revolutionise the way we handle plastic waste. By implementing innovative solutions for sorting, incentivising, and tracking waste, the founders aim to provide assurance to consumers, governments, and industries that plastics are being managed responsibly—whether through recycling, reuse, or composting.
